MEET JOE
Joe Maddon is one of baseball’s most accomplished and respected leaders. Over a 31-year Major League Baseball career, he managed the Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Angels, leading the Rays to their first American League pennant in 2008 and guiding the Cubs to their historic 2016 World Series championship—the franchise’s first title in 108 years. Only 12 managers have a higher winning percentage than Joe's .532 mark and managed as many games as Joe (2,599).
A three-time Baseball Writers’ Association of America Manager of the Year (2008, 2011, 2015), Maddon is one of only a handful of managers to earn the honor in both leagues. He is also a two-time Baseball America Major League Manager of the Year and a World Series champion.
Beyond the game, Maddon has devoted decades to serving others through charitable initiatives that support vulnerable communities, provide opportunities for young people, and bring people together through food and fellowship. In 2021, he was honored as a Community Hero by the Tampa Bay Lightning for his commitment to making a difference off the field. Through Thanksmas and now Two Burnt Feet Foundation, Maddon continues to champion the values that have defined his life and career: respect, generosity, and the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and cared for.
Known for his authenticity, creativity, and unconventional leadership, Joe’s legacy extends far beyond baseball. It is measured not only in championships won, but in lives touched and communities strengthened.
